Reporting Illness or Injury
Report all illnesses or injuries, and near misses to the UT System Office of Risk Management. EHS receives notices of these incidents.
On-the-Job Injuries (Employee Illness or Injuries)
Employee accidents must follow all Workers Compensation requirements including timely and proper reporting to CorVel. The State of Tennessee can issue substantial fines to your department for failure to report, delayed report, or seeking treatment for non-emergencies prior to reporting.

A near-miss is a specific occurrence where something bad almost happened.
It is an incident in which no property was damaged and no personal injury was sustained, but damage or injury could have occurred, given a slight shift in time or position.

Student Health Center (Eligible Non-employee Students)
Eligible non-employee students who experience a non-emergency injury or incident resulting from work in an academic research context (research lab, instructional lab, maker space, etc.) may receive outpatient care from the Student Health Center (SHC) by appointment only.
