A Construction Zone is no stranger at the University of Tennessee. Several new buildings are taking shape or are already beginning to serve a new generation of users. Driving through construction zones, whether on campus (or off) poses one of the greatest risks in the workplace. Vehicle related accidents are the number one cause of death in the workplace. EHS would like to encourage you to slow down and drive carefully through or near construction areas. Drive as though you are driving through your own workplace. “Drive Like You Work Here”
Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) is an annual spring campaign held at the start of construction season to encourage safe driving through highway work zones. The key message is for drivers to use extra caution in work zones.
