Biosafety Initial

Course Description

Initial training is required prior to working in labs that are registered with the IBC, are diagnostic labs handling microorganisms, or are teaching labs that meet certain Biosafety criteria. This training covers the UTK biosafety program, NIH Guidelines, infectious agents, and safety and containment measures. This course touches on safe sharps use and bloodborne pathogens, however these topics have their own dedicated courses.

  • Certificate valid x3 years with annual refresher required.
