X-ray Machine User

Course Description

This training module reviews radiation hazard information for individuals who will use X-ray producing machines used for medical diagnostics and analytical systems such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF) or X-ray diffractometer (XRD) units.

Audience

Campus members who use X-ray machines for medical diagnostics and analytical systems such as XRF or XRD units.

Initial Course Details

  • This training is required before you begin working with the X-ray machines.
  • Learning Credit: 1 hour
  • Delivery Platform: Canvas (Academic)
  • Certificate: This course does not provide a completion certificate. Completion is tracked by Radiation Safety.
  • Enrollment: By request

Refresher Course Details

  • This training is required to continue working with the X-ray machines.
  • including x-ray machines at the CVM.
  • Learning Credit: 1 hour
  • Delivery Platform: Canvas (Academic)
  • Certificate: This course does not provide a completion certificate. Completion is tracked by Radiation Safety.
  • Enrollment: Radiation Safety will e-mail accelerator users who completed the initial training or refresher in the two years prior.
  • Annual Notification: Every spring, Radiation Safety will e-mail radiation workers, who completed the initial or annual refresher X-ray training two years prior.
