Course Description

This training module covers radiation hazard information, exposure monitoring, safe use practices, instrumentation, and basic procedures for radiation workers at the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).

Audience

Campus members who handle or work near ionizing radiation including x-ray machines.

Initial Course Details

  • Training is required before you begin working with ionizing radiation.
  • Learning Credit: 1 hour
  • Delivery Platform: Canvas (Academic)
  • Certificate: This course does not provide a completion certificate. Completion is tracked by Radiation Safety.
  • Enrollment: By request

Refresher Course Details

  • Annual Refresher is required to continue working with ionizing radiation including x-ray machines at the CVM.
  • Learning Credit: 1 hour
  • Delivery Platform: Canvas (Academic)
  • Certificate: This course does not provide a completion certificate. Completion is tracked by Radiation Safety.
  • Enrollment: Assigned annually
  • Annual Notification: CVM radiation workers who completed the initial or annual VTH refresher during the previous calendar year.
