Hydrofluoric Acid Safety

  • Hydrofluoric acid (HF) is a versatile chemical with numerous innovative research applications; however, it is also one of the most dangerous chemicals encountered in the laboratory.
  • HF training is required for anyone working with, around, or in areas where hydrofluoric acid is used or stored, including waste materials that may contain HF.
  • This course provides information on the recognition and assessment of hydrofluoric acid hazards, how to mitigate HF risks, and how to prevent, prepare for, and respond to an HF emergency.
  • Hazard-specific training is required prior to working with, around, or in an area with HF or wastes containing HF.

Audience

  • Anyone working with, around, or in areas where hydrofluoric acid is used or stored, including waste materials that may contain HF.
